I have previously discussed that there better days and times to post on Facebook to maximize your views and conversations.

Now Facebook helps with allowing you to schedule your posts in advance. Which can also help to maximize your views and conversations.

Are you building trust?

Social Media is one of the important ways  to find new Customers for your products and services.  It involves building a relationship with your connections. And the first step is building trust.

Your profile picture is your first impression.  And a necessary item in building trust. Consider how your Profile picture looks today.

Is it missing? Or is it the generic shadow, like you see on Facebook?  That could make potential customers think:
– you are lazy
– you arent this real person
– you dont want people to see you

All of these hurt your ability to build trust.

Lots of people like to use a picture of a pet or other animal. That is better than no picture.  But its still not the best if you are serious about finding customers and building trust.

Your best option is to use a real picture of yourself.  You dont need to be a model or have a glamour shot.  A simple picture is all you need.  Have fun with it if you want.  This will get you on the right track to building trust, and help with you with  that first impression.

Pinterest – Pin it to unlock it

We all love contests and games where we can get something at a discounted price. Although maybe your offer isn’t a discount. Maybe it’s to get something free as a bonus when they buy your product or service.

A couple companies have a new strategy on Pinterest. They show a photo of the discount or offered item. And specify that people need to repin it 100 times (or whatever number of repins you want) to unlock the secret on how to get it. Maybe that secret is:
– a specific landing page
– a special code to be entered during checkout
– to call a special phone number
– to text a word somewhere

Here is an example:  Beauty.com will be announcing a giveaway to an upcoming event. But first they want 500 repins.

Why repins? Repins are like word of mouth advertising. When you REPIN, you are pinning that photo to one of YOUR boards. Now, your followers will also see that photo. They may also be interested and want to repin it. And then their followers see it.

What a great way to spread your message and get lots of people seeing it.

Of course, once your repin limit is reached, you should have lots of interested people ready to take action to get your offer.

One last tip – Lets say you want to do something like a Buy one get one free offer. Or Buy Three and get one free. That free item doesn’t necessarily need to be yours. Partner with someone else. Offer their item for free or at a discount when someone buys yours. And maybe your partner can do the same with your product or service.
